A new freestanding, two level office building with extensive roof garden was constructed to the east of the existing heritage-listed Parliament House. It contains 102 offices for Members of Parliament along with foyers, break-out spaces and amenities as well as extensive landscaping to integrate the Parliament House gardens . The new building is linked to Parliament House over three levels via a basement tunnel, ground level canopy and bridge at the roof terrace. A key consideration during the project was the State Parliament which continued to operate throughout the construction period.
