EGHS is a new school catering for 800 students from Years 7 to 10 with room for temporary expansion to accommodate additional students. It is over 8,500m2 at 1-2 storeys and most buildings are being constructed from structural concrete. Icon is providing high-quality general and specialist learning environments, incorporating both indoor and outdoor learning areas, as well as integrated spaces to support students with specialised needs.

The design is to be the equivalent of a 4-star Greenstar rating with costed options for 5-star equivalent. Formal certification from the Green Building Council of Australia is not targeted. The Icon team has pursued sustainable design options through Phase 1 of the project.
