Barpa

Barpa is a standalone, majority Indigenous owned and operated Construction company.

A joint partnership with the Federation of Victorian Traditional Owner Corporations and Icon, this partnership builds on the strengths of the two entities, offering an Indigenous solution for capital works projects across Australia, leveraging the depth and capabilities of Icon and the Federation’s connection to, and respect for, First Nations nationally.

With offices located across Australia, Barpa has a national coverage, offering full construction capability and opportunities to work in regional and remote Australian locations.

What type of graduates/cadets should apply?

Whether you have just embarked on your University studies, are in your final years or have just finished your degree(s) we want to hear from you!

We’re interested in candidates that are currently studying toward or have just completed a Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or similar.

The successful applicants must have an exceptional attitude toward learning, be able take instruction well along with impressive written and verbal communication skills.

To be eligible for the Program you need to be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or have at the time of application, an unrestricted visa which enables you to work in Australia.

Right from the start, you’ll embark on a comprehensive programme that systematically exposes you to all areas of the organisation.

Graduate/Cadetship Program Outline

Participating in the Program, you will learn about our business and our people, as well as the broader construction industry, developing an understanding of how our teams operate and how they successfully execute complex and challenging projects.

The key objectives of the Program are:

  • to train Graduates/Cadets to be the future leaders of the company, exposing you to all facets of the company from Estimating to Project Completion
  • to provide a balance between work, study and home life; and
  • to provide options and career paths for progression at the completion of the Program.

To achieve these objectives, you will be placed in a broad range of roles to ensure you gain comprehensive exposure to the entire construction process.

These roles will include:

  • Estimating and Tendering
  • Design Management
  • Workplace Health and Safety
  • Quality Management
  • Contract Administration
  • Site Supervision
  • Project Delivery
