500 bed on-campus student accommodation at the Australian National University. The project was designed to provide ANU students with high quality, affordable housing on campus with a collegiate lifestyle. The project complements the existing accommodation on campus and has significantly increased the campus resident population. The building integrates open living spaces created by 270 degree views of green spaces where community living is inspired by the smooth lines of a u-shaped building. The student home away from home further includes commercial kitchens, a library, breakout spaces, a theatre, BBQ facilities and gardens for students requiring a place to socialise, consider ideas and of high importance - taking that much needed quiet downtime. Delivered in record timing of just 15 months, the ANU SA5 project showcases Icon's attention to detail and our ability to successfully deliver projects at busy operational University campuses. Our project team worked tirelessly, ensuring complex staging, traffic management and access requirements were met to guarantee the safety of all staff, students and visitors.
