The Brewery at No.5 Central Park Avenue includes five floors of commercial workspace, complemented by ground floor of retail and hospitality. The construction restored, respected and adaptively re-purposed existing building, providing the most direct representation of the original Brewery while creating a modern, sustainable office space. Construction challenges for the development included the retention and restoration of the existing building fabric, extensive sandstone restoration and services integration of plant equipment for a tri-generation plant within the heritage item. Coordination of the Central Thermal Plant included numerous stakeholders due to the site significance. Icon completed detailed demolition of the internal former wheat cilos to allow for new structural additions. The main works comprised of: ▪ Heritage façade refurbishment including new windows; ▪ Internal refurbishment to cold shell level, ready for tenant fitout works; ▪ Internal structural modifications and extensions and new mezzanine spaces; ▪ Additions of new elements including entry doors and awning, external stair and additional levels; ▪ Hard and soft landscaping to create an entry forecourt.
