Icon continued its long standing partnership with Deakin University with the completion of the Centre for Advanced Design in Engineering Training Building. The CADET footprint required significant bulk excavation and the design and construction of a pile and precast retention system, prior to construction of the three level post tensioned concrete and steel structure. The building included a number of research and teaching laboratories, teaching spaces, study areas, staff workspaces and a 100-seat multifunction auditorium. The design & construction project fully utilised building information modelling (BIM) technology throughout construction.
