Icon Awarded Lennox Head Public School Relocation Project

January 27, 2026

Icon strengthens its government and education portfolio with new project for School Infrastructure.

In line with Icon NSW’s strategic business plan to strengthen its position within the government sector, the business has secured another significant project, the Lennox Head Public School Relocation.

The project represents a key milestone for Icon NSW, following the recent award of the $150 million Bathurst Hospital Redevelopment. Together, these projects deliver on two of the region’s core strategic targets to grow its government health and education portfolio across New South Wales.

About the Project

Appointed by School Infrastructure, Icon will deliver a new and contemporary learning environment designed to support modern teaching and learning practices delivered under a Design Development and Construction model.  The new Lennox Head Public School campus will feature:

  • 24 modern classrooms with multipurpose learning spaces
  • A school hall with covered outdoor learning area
  • Library, canteen and administration facilities
  • Outdoor play areas with play equipment and games courts
  • A new 40-place public preschool with indoor and outdoor learning zones

Thank you to the talented consultant teams who have helped shape this project: PTW Architects, WSP, Arcadis, WSce, and to our delivery partners helping bring it the project to life Webber Architects, Greycat Consulting and Lucid.

“Education is one of the most meaningful sectors we can contribute to,” said Marc Avery, NSW/ACT Director at Icon.

“The Lennox Head Public School Relocation represents more than just a new facility – it’s an investment in future generations and the communities that support them. This award, alongside our recent award at Bathurst Hospital, demonstrates the trust our clients place in Icon to deliver essential government infrastructure that truly makes a difference.”

Construction commences in early 2026 with the new school expected to be operational in 2027.

This win reinforces Icon’s growing capability in the education and government sectors, and continues to strengthen our reputation for building what matters most.  Spaces that enrich learning, inspire communities and create lasting value for our clients.
