Yesterday, Icon partnered with the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) NSW to host an insightful site tour at the Wodonga Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade — a state-of-the-art project redefining regional sustainability and innovation.
About the Project
Delivered in partnership with North East Water and Reeves Envico, the upgrade is transforming waste into opportunity — improving water recovery, reducing emissions, and setting a new benchmark for sustainable infrastructure across regional Australia.
Guests were guided by Bella Doyle (Project Coordinator) and Asinate Namuaira (HSE Coordinator), who shared insights into the project’s advanced treatment systems, innovative design solutions, and complex delivery methodologies.
The tour was organised by Ashley Barnes, Head of Design NSW – Icon and Chair of both the NAWIC NSW On the Tools and Regional Committees, alongside Ashley Gerathy, Client Engagement Manager – Icon.
The event offered a rare behind-the-scenes look at the integration of circular resource use, energy efficiency, and community resilience – demonstrating how collaboration and innovation can create lasting impact.
“It’s inspiring to see regional infrastructure projects driving national benchmarks in sustainability and design excellence,” said Ashley Barnes.
