Icon Commences Construction on Primary School in Whitlam, ACT

The Icon ACT team has been awarded a contract by Infrastructure Canberra to deliver a major new public primary school for the growing number of families in the Molonglo Valley.

The new school will accommodate 780 primary school students from preschool to year 6 and deliver high-quality, community-integrated learning environments that feature:

• Integrated preschool, junior, and primary school learning communities
• Inclusive education programs and accessible learning amenities
• Teacher workspaces, leadership, administration, psychologist, multi‐faith room and staff centre
• Library and interactive resource centre
• Multipurpose sports hall with dual indoor competition courts
• Extensive outdoor learning, performance, and recreation zones
• Bicycle and shared community parking facilities

The Minister for Education and Early Childhood, Yvette Berry, conducted a smoking ceremony to commemorate construction commencing and welcome the team of consultants and contractors on board to deliver this flagship development.

Due for completion in 2027, Icon looks forward to collaborating with best-in-class consultants and contractors to reset the benchmark for modern, sustainable educational facilities in Canberra.
