The project is located on a small site of some 500sqm on the corner of Wellington Street and Queen St in Perth CBD opposite Yagan Square.

Wellington Street Student Accommodation comprises the construction of a 39 level building, 483 beds with communal facilities, ground level commercial tenancies and 86 bicycle parking spaces.

Icon were engaged under an ECI format in May 2019. We were subsequently engaged under a forward works package in September 2019 that required detailed demolition works in order to retain the heritage façade and internal elements.

During the ECI we took responsibility for managing all consultants in order to undertake a GMP/ D&C. This required detailed technical interface with Perth Transport Authority (PTA) as the project is within the zone of influence of the bus terminal.
We have now been engaged to undertake works to construct & design this landmark project, which when completed, will be Perth’s tallest residential building.
