Part of the Victorian Government’s $280 million investment to expand emergency department capacity at both Casey Hospital and Werribee Mercy Hospital, the project represents a major milestone in strengthening emergency healthcare services for communities across Melbourne’s south-east.
Once complete, the expanded emergency department will support the treatment of an additional 52,000 emergency presentations each year, improving patient flow, safety and the overall quality of care.
The School is the ACT Government’s Pilot Project - led by a 100% female site management team, strong female trade participation, and a commitment to 5-Star Green Star delivery.
The expansion will deliver a range of new facilities designed to support modern emergency care, including: Immediate care cubicles; Short stay beds; Resuscitation bays; Ambulatory care spaces; Procedure rooms; Consult and interview rooms; A dedicated children’s zone; A dedicated mental health zone; Satellite imaging
These upgrades will help provide faster access to care while supporting clinicians with improved facilities and expanded treatment capacity.
